Things that are different here.

1. I can get to Downtown and back in 35 minutes.
2. Dryer's Ice Cream is called Edy's. Same look, same creamy taste. Same husband who eats the entire gallon and leaves one cup for me.

3. The carpool lane on the freeway moves. If I'm not mistaken, the center divider switches between northbound and southbound I-93, and depending on the direction of traffic, creates an HOV lane in the middle. Strange - it's like little ants come and pick up the heavy cement blocks each night.
3. I actually like to cook.
4. There are no earthquakes.
5. The temperature can change from a high of 89 degrees to a high of 55 degrees within 24 hours. Question: If I am wearing my winter clothes in the summer, what will I wear in the winter?

The cement blocks are linked together and are moved twice a day by a huge zamboni-looking truck called a "zipper." Pretty cool if you get a glimpse of it.

A: Buy real winter clothes :) NE winter clothes aren't as fashionable but they are warmer.

You wear CA winter clothes in Boston now? Goodness... it'll be an interesting winter.

Any other CA-natives out there who were surprised to find that all the carpool lanes outside of CA are called "HOV Lanes"? Took me forever to figure out what HOV stood for.

P, it's funny that the "regional ice cream" is one of the first things we notice when we move. Out here in TEXas, the ice cream of choice is Blue Bell.
