Even though I am married, working and in my late twenties, there is something about having the parents around that is supremely comforting. Things could be hard or go out of control but if they are there, everything will be okay. DJ says I'm a momma's girl, which, if you know me, is very different than my attitude during the teenage years.

The parental units, as my sis calls them, pleasantly surprised DJ and I by dropping by for a couple days while my friends were in town last weekend. Aside from treating me and my friends to an expensive meal, they also took me to the market, bought me a cleaver, and gave me a crash course on real Chinese cooking. Mom and Dad have been gone for more than a week but we're still eating what they cooked for us. Very helpful since the kitchen stove has been silent now that I have a job.

Uhh... I'm so glad that you had your parents here for a little while. I hope they enjoyed the east coast. :) I know what you mean about the comforts of being with your parents. I've been feeling that way last few days, and thinking about leaving makes me so sad, although I'm so excited to see my hubby tomorrow! :) Miss you guys... Can't believe I missed the first snow!!!
