Maria Joy and Mike visited me last week/weekend, and I'm sad they're gone. We walked around historic Salem, beach hopped on Cape Cod, ate lots of seafood, and they did the freedom trail. Between the four of us, we took a total of 600 photos. Here are some over-arching themes of this trip.

Lots of posing for photos. Here is a second attempt at reproducing a J.Crew catalog photo, although I think the first attempt was better.

Maria and Joy also documented every meal with photos, being the gourmands that they are. Here they are at work at Elephant Walk, by far one of the best restaurants I've been to in Boston:

There was also a general craziness about these eclairs that they discovered at Quincy Market. Forgetting them before flying out would have been a big no-no. Here's a reminder note.

Gummy candy could always be found in someone's pocket throughout the trip. A coping mechanism for the cold weather, I guess. Mike, the smarty, had smarties instead.

Most importantly, it was a great few days with good, old friends. There's nothing like it, and no one like them.

J. Crew...except there are Asian people in it. Oh wait, that's Abercrombie.

Thanks for the comment, Pauline. By the way, talking about me is nothing uncommon. My name is brought up in all kinds of social circles, most associated with the words drunken stupor. It's still attention, I suppose.

Beautiful sunset and beach pictures, Pauline! I'm so envious!
