This is what the extended Chu family does every year, since before I can remember. Gathering at the grave site of my ancestors, we preach to each other and sing the same Chinese hymn, always in a key that's too high.

What a beautiful....
view of L.A.'s smog layer.

With my cousin Helena.

The Jeongs. Yes, that is DJ's YOUNGER brother in front of me, although he looks like he's in his 40s. NO offense to you 40 year-olds out there!

We also some family from the Hsu side. This girls are growing up way too fast!

I always love seeing Lydia and her spunky raspy-voiced little girl, fast asleep in the middle of Rubio's Baja Grill. Not a flattering picture, but I don't think Mei minds. I remember Lydia so clearly during my childhood, from teaching me multiplication tables and running away from my pet chicken to conducting youth choir.

...And, our very own living Confucius. Here he is stroking his growing beard. It's so great seeing good friends, even briefly.
But, my favorite part was being with these people.

Pauline!!
I don't know how, but you found me on Xanga! So I hope you don't mind that I was nosey enough to look at your Xanga, and then your blogspot. And I was further nosey enough to read quite a ways back.
So you're in Boston now... wow! It must be a huge adventure to just up and move all the way across the country... and to learn about the lifestyle. If you ever need a shoulder to cry on about the weather or the people or the black ice or the Fall leaves that look beautiful for about 12 minutes before they fall to the ground, gather in heaps, get rained on, and squish like soggy corn flakes while you walk through them, give me a call... been there done that, believe me!
Living in Providence (and visiting Boston every other weekend) for 3 years taught me so much about myself. The last time I saw you, a few years ago (omg that sounds scary... and sad), you asked me if I think I had changed. Well, now you're probably finding out firsthand how I might have changed!
Anyway... hit me back if you have time, jaxon121@yahoo.com or I'm on MySpace as well. As you can see, I don't blog much... =\ In the meantime, stay beautiful and be sure and go to a Hahvahd Bah. What are you gonna do at a Hahvahd Bah? I dunno. Fuck up some smaht kids.
Hey Pauline. Guess what? My sister just got $3,300 from the A&F settlement. I'm so jealous. But cool, huh? You made her rich!
