Tonight after our walk home, Shan and Eth came over to help me finish some bibimbap that we had leftover from a church dinner a couple nights ago. Thank goodness, because for the first time ever I am a little tired of korean food after preparing three consecutive meals for Saturday night's progressive dinner.
After dinner, Simon and Ivy paid us a surprise visit as part of their supposed exercise walk through Brookline which I think was actually an impromptu house cleaning inspection. What a great way to spend an otherwise dreary, lonely Monday evening.
I spent the rest of the night watching a PBS special on Windsor castle. Did you know that they literally use "rule of thumb" to measure the distance between a plate and the edge of the table during one of Queen Elizabeth's dinners? I personally think it's a lot of hoopla for just another human being who simply inherited their wealth and privilege and still pees and poops like the rest of us.
For the past half hour, I've been looking for rescued dogs because our dog obsession has been revived as of late. DJ thinks a dog is the solution to all of his problems. Think:
Wife + dog =
less nagging =
more time for work. *drool*.
DJ says he wants a Boston Terrier because they are smart, mild, and healthy, but I think he really just wants a dog that has the same build as himself. If we get a Boston Terrier, I'm going to call him Boston. Do you like my double doggy entendre?
I'm going to finish off this evening by praying for two people very close to me. I don't know how to help one and I don't know how not to help the other. All I know is that the best and only thing I can do is to pray.
