Thanksgiving, Part I: Cerritos

It is always good to go home. The sun is brighter, the air is more colorful, and the people are so dear. Thanks to my dad for hooking us up with first class upgrades on United. Even though we had the world's fartiest dog with us as a carry-on, at least Boston passed his gas in style.

Holidays in CA are always celebrated in two parts - this time, Cerritos was the first stop.

After a whirlwind couple days of church and seeing lots of old friends and their new babies, we went out to k-town for dinner with DJ's dear friends at Mu Deung San. We had all-you-can-eat duk bo sam (korean bbq with rice cake wrappers) and celebrated an early birthday for DJ. They also gave him a sweet Northface gift card to buy a winter jacket. Thanks friends!

Danny and DJ, boy friends forever.

On Tuesday we spent the day with DJ's mom, driving around scenic Cerritos, CA. This has to be one of the wealthiest city governments with free city-wide wi-fi, gold fire hydrants, a sculpture garden, and a library to rival that of any university.

with DJ's mom:

Cerritos Public Library

In a big state like California, they serve big bowls of shaved ice.

More later...
