I am currently typing this from Le Chateau Frontenac, the nicest hotel in Quebec City. After this and the W Montreal, it's going to be difficult to go back to our correct place in the socioeconomic hierarchy.
Quebec City is amazing. There is really no way to justly describe the narrow cobblestone streets, the fortified old city walls, the buildings that look as though you've gone back a couple hundred years...it's Paris without the dirt and the mean French people. I think this may equal or top London as my favorite international city.
Despite all of this, I am having major chinese food withdrawal. I now know why, on a family trip to Paris back in the day, we ate Chinese every night. In Paris. It's in the blood. Right about now if you gave me a choice between foie gras or a good bowl of noodle soup with 2 items (wontons and fishballs) from Hong Kong eatery, there is no doubt which one I would choose.
