I kind of feel sad for him. He had eight years to change the world and a lot of political capital early on to do it. But it was squandered away. To think that your presidential legacy is a failed, baseless war, the collapse of an economy, the gradual erosion of U.S. economic and political influence, little progress internationally (Iran, N. Korea, Israel/Palestine, Afghanistan, Bin Laden), and a political party and potential successor who doesn't want to be mentioned in the same sentence as you...that's depressing. What will be on display at his presidential library? A chart of record national deficit growth? A counter of now many servicemen/women have lost their lives in Iraq?
I wonder what he's thinking right now.
