choose life

why we should feed terry schiavo:

a) it's not clear she wanted to die.
b) michael schiavo has moved on - he's living with another woman and their 2 kids. he claims he's fighting this battle because he loves her. but seeing as he's moved on, do you think that love is strong enough to fight this battle, or is there another motive here?
c) her husband may have abused her before the heart failure. there has been talk of fractures that had nothing to do with her bodily collapse. but of course only the husband would have access to medical records so who knows?
d) he wants freedom
e) he wants insurance money
f) don't you think the people who conceived terry, gave birth to her, raised her to adulthood would care about her needs and love her more than a man whose priority is another woman and their children?
g) she's not a vegetable. she can blink her eye, make noises, breathe on her own. last time i checked that meant the person was still alive.
h) living people need to eat. not to feed them would be starvation.

note to my peeps: if i can blink my eyes but can't do anything else, don't kill me. first ask me how i feel (blink once = yes/good, blink twice = no/bad). then ask me if i have an itch anywhere that you can help me scratch. then ask me if i want to live. and take the best of five answers in case i still need work on my eyelid coordination. if you can't tell, choose life.

finally, read THE DIVING BELL AND THE BUTTERFLY. it will move you.
