My exciting outing for the day was to go to the local public library. Nice little area, maybe I'll sit under a big oak tree one day to read.
I forget how wonderful libraries are. You can access thousands of books for FREE, and take up to two months to enjoy them. Much better than speed reading at the local bookstore Cafe!
Now reading:
Memoirs of Geisha (Have to read the book before the movie comes out this fall!)
God's Politics: A New Vision for Faith and Politics in America (Why the Right Gets it Wrong and the Left Doesn't Get It) by Jim Wallis, the founder of sojo.org.
The library also had a sad DVD collection, but I managed to find two films to help pass the time. Beats paying $4+ at Blockbuster:
"Bowling for Columbine" by Michael Moore
"The Philadelphia Story" starring Grant, Hep, and Stewart.
By the way, the library computer says that Cary Grant was born in 1904 and is still alive, which I thought was strange, so I did some research and found this site. It's slightly disturbing but a good reference nevertheless. Maybe I'll check out this site before the next Oscar show so that during the "In Memoriam" clip, I won't be so clueless.
