Next Door

Roz and I woke up to sounds of sirens last night, and saw that there was a fire in the complex next to ours.

There are lots of fire/flood-related contractors and officials in our area. It's nice to see that things are being taken care of so quickly, but it is also so sad to think about the tenants and the pain they are going through, with all of their stuff either turned to ashes or completely flooded with water.

We've been getting a fair amount of rain these days (except for the few hours during last night's fire, ironically) which is hurricane-related, according to The Weather Channel. The humidity is in the 90% range and tomorrow we will be in a tornado warning area, even though we are thousands of miles away from the hurricane. Just for perspective, it's 83 degrees and sunny in Torrance, CA.
That's just great.
