I read a good article in Time Magazine about the Asian American experience for kids whose parents moved here in the 60's and 70's. I think it's missing stories from two distinct groups of Asian Americans - those whose parents were not well-educated and don't fit in the "model minority" stereotype (and there are quite a few); and those who, like me, did grow up in a community full of Asian immigrants and Asian American and still struggle with "assimilation." This move to Boston has been an experience of assimilation, having come from L.A., which is (arguably) the capital of Asian America Anyways, it's nice to see a substantial discussion of this in mainstream media.
