Our whole apartment smells like spam.
Today we cooked dinner for BCEC's (as in karenoch's church) Project Destiny staff and made spam musubi, among other things. I've really enjoyed getting to know some of the PD staff. I'm so thankful to be able to contribute in a small way to their effort to reach unchurched middle school kids in Boston. Keep up the good work!
I'm also thankful to be blessed with really strong foosball skills. So strong, in fact, that I am the reigning foosball champion of this household. No handicaps, best out of ten, fair and square. DJ claims that he was saving his energy because he thought this was just a practice game. I'm getting worried about him, though. I think I'll have to let him win next time just to make him feel better.
Anyways, lots of things have happened during my two-week hiatus from all things blogger. Multiple dates at the local watering holes because going out at night is the only way we can get ourselves to sit face to face and just chat and because DJ has a strange affinity for bars. I guess you can take the boy out of Korea but you can't take the Korea out of the boy.
On July 24th we celebrated our two year anniversary by going to the aquarium, walking along the Esplanade, and dinner/people-watching/too-much-sangria-drinking at Scoozi on Newbury. Only by God's grace have we made it through last two years and ditto for the remaining three years of OMFS residency.
Fundraising has reached a heightened level at work, and will stay that way until the gala on November 14th. To unwind from all this stress, I've taken to walking the 3.5 miles home with my friend Shan. Chatting with a friend, exercising instead of jostling with subway commuters, and enjoying an unparalleled view of the Charles.
What more could a girl ask for?

are you guys walking everyday now? wow, i am thoroughly impressed.
i giggled when i read about the korea and the boy thing. i must say that chris really likes going to bars too. i just don't indulge him much because i don't like crowded places.
btw, i forgot that you were making spam musubi. i should have come over. ;)
Do you let DJ drink? I remember having to drive him back from happy hour. If you want to have him pay attention, make sure his drink is watered down.
I still commend you two for walking home 3.5 miles each day. Are you riding it now on the bike? You gotta come over so I can show you how to use the dang thing right :)
