I have assimilated

On Sunday we went to the Red Sox-Orioles game for my birthday. Red Sox tickets are pretty hard to come by in Boston, but we got to go because my colleague Molly was having a "Fever Pitch" moment and didn't feel like going with her fiance.

So DJ and I reaped the benefits of beeeautiful Fenway Park, with all the beer and hot dogs and Paris Hiltons with their big sunglasses. This was my first time in the sanctuary of Boston and I had a fairly good time despite a completely uneventful game.

...until the bottom of the 9th came along and the Red Sox, trailing 0-5, scored 6 runs in one inning to win!!! We were hugging people we didn't know, DJ screamed until he was hoarse, and I couldn't have asked for a better first game.

Something has changed. Being at Fenway Park somehow redirected the synaptic connections in my brain because today I (me, who falls asleep the minute I hear the Sportscenter theme song) logged on to ESPN to read a recap.

Voluntarily.

Let's let that sink in for a moment.

Red Sox

Awww! P! That's awesome! All the Red Sox fans I know are die hard. I can't believe you're going to become one of them!

hahaha. i know what it's like to "discover" espn and a sport (for me, basketball). after getting married, espn is actually one of my bookmarked tabs for my "news" folder on firefox. :)
