I have been waiting for Friday for months now, so I can wake up before the sun rises and purchase my iPhone 3G. BUT I found out today that I may not be "upgrade eligible" until August 1!!! Current AT&T iPhone users can get it no prob. Non AT&T clients can switch over to get an iPhone. But noooo, current non-iPhone AT&T clients who have rewarded AT&T with decades of business cannot. This is what AT&T tells me:

Device offers are made available from time to time based on a number of factors: service tenure, spending levels, payment history, usage practices and other factors.

What does this mean? That it all depends on how gracious the AT&T sales person is feeling Friday morning at 8am? That I have to wait until they are sold out before I can consider getting one?

This is just punishment to me for staying with Palm all these years. No more!
