My Dell Latitude D630 has broken for the third time in two years.

I'm beginning to sound like a broken record, or at least a Dell customer service rep stalker. But those who know me know that I'm not crazy and I wouldn't make this stuff up just to torment myself.

The first and second round of laptop challenges are documented here and here. And for the sake of completion, here is my current sob story: This evening, while doing the very important task of updating my employment history on FB, my computer froze and a window popped up, informing me that some sort of visual driver ("NV----") failed but has been restored. A few minutes later, the screen went dark. I then did a forced power off. Half an hour later, I turned it back on and after nearly two minutes, the computer tells me that Windows won't start and I need to put the computer in startup repair. After it's done checking for problems, it attempts to restart and again the screen goes dark. And here I am.

So what should I do?

a) Cry and scream to Dell's Chief Marketing Officer in hopes that I can achieve the same results as last time by receiving yet another laptop only to transfer all my friggin' data to the THIRD HARD DRIVE IN TWO YEARS

or

2) Take my crappy Dell laptop with its crappier Microsoft operating system and put a sledge hammer to it and then immediately go out and buy an Apple?

oh no! what a way to finish your first day! :( sad to see you go over to the other side, but i must say that C's power book is still going strong after 6 years despite my idiotic return.

How about 3) get Ocean Spray to give you a laptop for work?

I used to be a faithful Dell owner but now the only PC laptop I will buy is a Thinkpad. We just got Karen a Macbook Pro and I gotta say it's very nice.

Pauline: Sorry to see that your D630 is causing problems. I've responded to you on Twitter. Feel free to DM me there with a service tag or a case #, and I'll work to get you to someone who can help.

Sincerely,
@LionelatDell

I did get a work laptop - brand new Lenovo Thinkpad. But I still want the computer that I paid a pretty penny for. On the phone with the Dell service rep again. And in touch with Dell peeps on twitter. We'll see what they all can do.
