For the last few days, I've been playing this addictive and brainless Bejeweled game on www.popcap.com. I realized the driving force was that I had to beat DJ's best record, level 7. I did it once already on Sunday night, but it didn't seem like a large enough margin for long-term bragging rights, so I persevered. Tonight I finally made it to level 13!!! Now I can rest in peace.
UPDATE: DJ's ego is so bruised from my record that he is playing Bejeweled as I type this. So far, he's died at level 3 and level 6. I still rule.

Is DJ playing on his PowerBook? He is at a marked disadvantage if he is, because of how Flash and Shockwave render more slowly on Mac OS X.
nope, he uses my computer. which means there are just no excuses.
Then I must hang my head in shame, for DJ is no longer a man.
She's just scared to take me on in basketball!!!
i'm playing the classic version. no way could i make it anywhere with the timed game.
