Today was my second day at the new job. I am very thankful, because...
a) I have a job.
b) I don't have to drive on the 405 or the 110 fwy. In fact, I don't have to drive to work at all!
c) I was not more than six minutes late on my first day of work. Halfway up to the Park St. T station on the redline, the conductor announces that there is a medical emergency in front of us and our train is delayed until further notice. Immediately, all the passengers around me get on their cell phones to call bosses/assistants. I ask the guy next to me how long this usually lasts and he says that last Friday, the "medical emergency" was someone jumping off a platform, resulting in a 2 HOUR delay. Thankfully yesterday's delay ended up being only 1/2 an hour.
d) My job responsibilities build on my experience while stretching me in some exciting areas. I will be in charge of branding, shaping messaging, and overall marketing strategy. Fun, cerebral stuff.
e) With the Fleet center bars on one side and Boston's famed North End on the other, my options for lunch are vastly increased. (As opposed to the taco lunch truck back in L.A.) I love my taco truck, though. That was some good stuff.
f) I may finally get a good night's sleep tonight. I realized during the last few days that going from a nocturnal to diurnal schedule within a matter of two days is very difficult without caffeine and with a snoring husband.

glad things are going well!
Your job sounds so great! Good for you!
Wow, North End... That could be dangerous to the wallet. ;) I'm so happy for you! And I know a little of the difficulties going from days of TLC to work. The latter is much better, although right now, I feel like I could use the former for a little while. ;)
